Our server cannot start oracle enterprise server 7.2.2.4 on SCO Unix 5.0.4,
because log1orac.dbf is corrupted:
>startup
ORACLE instance started.
Database mounted.
ORA-00314: log 1 of thread 1, expected sequence# 1189 doesn't match 1186
ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: '/dbase/oracle7/dbs/log1orac.dbf'
Attempting to dismount database........Database dismounted.
Attempting to shutdown instance........ORACLE instance shut down.
log1orac.dbf is current logfile, and was not archived. We have no backup of
any database file. But all other files are ok. log1orac.dbf cannot be cleared.
We must protect all data, what should we do?
>startup mount
ORACLE instance started.
Database mounted.
>select * from v$log
GROUP# THREAD# SEQUENCE# BYTES MEMBERS ARC STATUS

ORA-01624: log 1 needed for crash recovery of thread 1
ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: '/dbase/oracle7/dbs/log1orac.dbf'
because log1orac.dbf is corrupted:
>startup
